Honestly this was new for us. Knowing full-well there’s a whole bunch of amazingly talented food photographers out there, our trepidation was understandable. Basically, were we up to the job?

What about all those not so secret ‘secret tricks’ for portraying reality in food advertising? 

In the end you want to inspire people to buy tasty products. The producer and customer decide what’s tasty, not the industry or photographic jiggery-pokery.

Our concept was to actually cook with the products we’d been asked to promote. Following the principle of going food-shopping when hungry, we took the shots on an empty stomach.
